ROBERT PALMAI VOCAL AWARD ($100 from parents) ($250)
Awarded to a graduating Vocal Music student who has been a role model for their peers by sharing their gift of voice in a humble, responsible and caring manner.
CHRISTINE HANSEN MUSIC AWARD ($250)
Presented to a graduating music student who has displayed dedication, enthusiasm and leadership in the pursuit of musical excellence at Canterbury High School. This student will have earned the respect of both the staff and students, and will have contributed fully to the CHS Music Department.
JOHN POHRAN STRINGS AWARD ($250)
Presented to a graduating string student who has been consistent with superb performance dedication, encouragement and helping other string players. This individual has displayed humility, enthusiasm, a good sense of humour, responsibility and leadership throughout their years while in the string program at Canterbury High School.
LIKO YAMANE STRINGS AWARD ($100)
Presented to a Canterbury Strings graduate who has shown dedication throughout their 4 years in the Strings program. The recipient will have demonstrated the following qualities:
GARTH HAMPSON CHORAL AWARD ($100)
Presented to a Canterbury Vocal graduate who has shown dedication throughout their 4 years in the Vocal program. The recipient will have demonstrated the following qualities:
MUSICARE WINDS AWARD ($100)
Awarded to a graduate of the Winds Music Program who has demonstrated excellence in their area and has made a positive contribution to the Arts Canterbury Program and to the community.
JOHN R. KING AWARD - MUSIC ($75)
Presented to a graduate of the Arts Canterbury program who is outstanding in his/her Arts area, has made a positive contribution to their Arts area and the school, and has been a role model in projecting positive image of self and the Arts.
MUSIC PARENTS LEADERSHIP AWARD
Presented to a graduating student who has demonstrated commitment, initiative and leadership to the Canterbury Music Program.
NAC AWARD (NAC subscription series from the NAC)
Awarded to a Grade 11 Music student who has been a role model, and supported the performance of music, within the program, the school, and the local music community. This student does this without looking for recognition. Presented to a student for outstanding loyalty, enthusiasm and respect for others in all music activities.
CHRIS HAYDUK-COSTA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Awarded to a Canterbury Arts graduating student who exemplifies the attributes and values that Chris possessed. The scholarship is intended for a student who demonstrates the essence of the following overarching criteria:
1. Embodies a positive spirit in the face of adversity
2. Possesses a strong passion for his/her art
3. Is a solid student
4. Is civic minded
SUBJECT AWARDS
The Subject Awards for each of the academic faculties at Canterbury will be given to students who demonstrate dedication and excellence in their education, including academic achievement, participation in enrichment and outreach activities, and exemplary work habits.

- Demonstrated the key qualities of a choral singer including leadership, musicality, commitment, positive response to direction, and a strong sense of ensemble
- Must have contributed to the success of the vocal program by maintaining a positive, inclusive choral atmosphere
- Displayed conduct in keeping with the excellence of the Music Program
- Committed to community spirit and volunteerism
