About the Student Accounts
Did you know that the students earned 75% of earnings?
Fundraising activities are carried out by the Music Parents Support Group with the aim of providing financial resources and support to the Arts Canterbury Music Program and related music enrichment activities at CHS. To encourage and reward individual fundraising efforts, a portion of the profit from certain designated fundraising activities is held in an account and credited to the Arts Canterbury Music Program student that raised the funds. These activities include our year-round Fundscrip fundraiser, and other time-specific fundraisers that will be posted to the main page as they arise. Up to 75% of the earnings from your student’s sales go directly into their account.
These credits may only be used during the period of time the student is enrolled in the Arts Canterbury Music Program and to defray their cost of participating in music enrichment activities endorsed by the Music Department. This includes Music Department trips, purchase of school clothes offered for sale by the CHS Music Parents Support Group or purchase Music Department concert tickets. If you have a question on whether the Music Department endorses the use of the credits for a particular activity, please contact the one of the co-chairs of the Music Parents Support Group.
Important!
While student credits may be redeemed at any time during their years in the music program, the final deadline for requesting funds from the account is June 30th of their graduating year. Note that June 30th is also the deadline of formally requesting that the credits from a student’s account be transferred to a younger sibling’s account that is also in the music program at Canterbury. Ample notification will be given to the students and parents to remind them of this deadline...thank you for your understanding!
Any student credits not used while the student is enrolled in the Arts Canterbury Music Program (i.e. upon graduation or if the student leaves the program for any reason) is credited to the Music Parents Support Group account, with one possible exception. A student may pass unused credits to a younger sibling within the Arts Canterbury Music Program with the approval of the Music Parents Support Group Treasurer and the Music Department Head. Note: This must be done no later than June 30th of the graduating student's year.
If you have any questions regarding the amount of the credit in your son's or daughter's account, please contact the Music Parent Support Group's Treasurer.
